SEAM 2023 instructions

Please find below some important information about the conference:

1. Venue and registration
   • The conference takes place at the the Faculty of Economics, Matej Bel University, Cesta na amfiteáter 1, Banská Bystrica, Slovakia.
   • Registration desk opens before the Welcome reception on September 12 at 18:00 and on September 13 at 8:00. The conference starts at 8:45.
   • Please make sure you check-in at the registration desk upon arrival at the conference venue. You will be presented a conference badge. Please do wear your badge at all times during the conference and the social programs.
2. How to join us online
   • Each session in the final program will contain MS Teams link (highlighted by a red color, will be added later), which will direct you to the given channel. Please set up your connection to MS Teams in advance and see if everything works on your computer. The final program with all the links will be available online on our webpage within the next few days.
3. Sessions and presentations
   • Sessions always start and end on time. Please be prepared to be interrupted when your time is up, or to finish your coffee when sessions start.
   • Each presentation lasts no longer than 20 minutes; 5 additional minutes are reserved for discussion.
   • Speakers are strongly advised to upload their presentation in PDF or PPT (PPTX) formats on presentation computers prior to the start of their session.
4. Session chairs
   • The presenting author of the final paper in each session will serve as a Session Chair.
   • Session Chairs are kindly advised to be present in the session room at least 10 minutes before the session starts.
   • Kindly encourage the presenters to upload their presentation on the provided computer before the session starts. Please ensure that your session starts and finishes on time.
   • As some participants may be interested in seeing papers from multiple sessions in a given time slot, please stick to the order of presenters as in the program.
5. Dress code and weather
   • The advised dress code for the Conference is smart casual. This also includes the dinner.
   • The weather in September is usually very pleasant in Banská Bystrica (average low: 10 °C, average high 21 °C), but we advise you to look at the weather forecast. It tends to be sunny in September, but please bring an umbrella or raincoat.
6. Hiking trip on September 15 from Špania Dolina to Pánsky Diel
   • Meeting point is at the conference venue (Cesta na amfiteáter 1) at 8:30, transfer by bus will be provided and estimated arrival is at 14:00. You can see the scheduled route here.
   • An educated guide will also be provided (among other things, he is the head of Department of mathematics).
